(ANSA) - Rome, May 25 - Nearly nine out of 10 Italians have pretended to know the true meaning of a technology-related word at least once, according to an annual Samsung research study released on Wednesday.
The 2016 TechHabits report said that 87% of respondents said they pretended to know the meaning of a tech term that they didn't actually know, with the terms "cloud" and "emoji" the least-understood among Italians.
Nearly one in three Italians (32%) said that unclear terminology limits them in making the best use of their devices, higher than the European average of 23%. The study said 40% of Italians are interested in new technologies and 59% use more technology today than they did two years ago, which is higher than in the U.S. where the rate is 52%.
"We're committed to promoting the spread of a culture of innovation in our country, to support Italian cultural, social and economic growth," said Mario Levratto, Head of Marketing and External Relations, Samsung Electronics Italia.
