(ANSA) - Rome, April 29 - More and more Italians are resorting to esthetic physicians, according to a survey out Friday commissioned by the Italian Society of Esthetic Medicine.
The survey found patients are mostly women aged 36-50 and their preferred treatment is hyaluronic acid injections to fill wrinkles, followed by Botox shots, chemical peels, and non-surgical liposuction.
For men, the preferences were reversed with Botox topping the list followed by hyaluronic acid injections, then chemical peels, and non-surgical liposuction. The data showed 90% of patients came back after their initial consultation, and that 56% scheduled 3-5 visits in the first four months of 2016. Another 18% saw their esthetic doctor between 5 and 8 times in the same period.
