Mafia bust yields 47 mn in seized assets

Labate clan in Reggio Calabria, Maniscalco in Palermo

(ANSA) - Rome, April 29 - Finance police on Friday seized 47 million euros' worth of assets allegedly linked to the 'Ndrangheta mafia in Reggio Calabria and Cosa Nostra in Palermo, Sicily.
    The seizures in Reggio Calabria totaled 33 million euros and are linked to the Labate clan.
    In Palermo, police seized 15 million in assets linked to Francesco Paolo Maniscalco, who has been arrested and investigated multiple times for mafia crimes and is the son of Corso dei Mille clan boss Salvatore Maniscalco.
    The seized assets included businesses, property, vehicles, and bank accounts.
