(ANSA) - Rome, April 19 - The oppositions to Premier Matteo
Renzi's centre-left government on Tuesday obtained the quorum of
one fifth of the Senate, as well as the House, needed to request
a referendum on Renzi's flagship Constitutional reform
abolishing the Senate. The 65 Semators' signatures were gathered
among the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement, Silvio
Berlusconi's Forza Italia, the Northern League, and Sinistra
Italiana. Renzi has staked his political future on the October
referendum on reforms to make government cheaper and easier.
