Power production in Italy falls

(ANSA) - Rome, April 7 - Electricity production and consumption both fell in 2014 to the lowest levels since 2004 according to the 2016 edition of the 'Noi Italia' report from national statistics agency ISTAT published Thursday.
    Consumption stood at 4710.3 kWh per person, down 3% over the previous year. Gross electricity production totalled 46GWh per 10,000 inhabitants, down slightly on 2013. However, production and consumption of electricity deriving from renewable sources rose in 2014, ISTAT said. Some 37.3% of gross domestic consumption was covered by renewables, up 3.6% over 2013.
