Newborn found in rubbish container

(ANSA) - Siena, March 21 - A newborn girl was said to be in good condition on Monday after being found abandoned in a waste container in Tuscany's Val d'Orcia region on Sunday.
    The baby is in the neonatal intensive care unit at Le Scotte Hospital in Siena, where she is undergoing medical examinations. "She is in good health and has fed regularly from our breast milk bank," unit director Barbara Tomasini said.
    The baby girl has been provisionally entrusted to the hospital director pending a decision by the juvenile tribunal and has been given the name Claudia Gioia.
