One killed in central Rome blaze

(ANSA) - Rome, March 1 - A 69-year-old man is dead after a blaze broke out in a second-floor flat in a Rome apartment building in the central street of Via del Governo Vecchio in the early hours of Tuesday. The building was evacuated after Carabinieri police saw the flames while on a patrol and raised the alarm. Four teams of firefighters were needed to put out the blaze and a Carabinieri officer was treated for smoke inhalation.
