(supersedes previous)(ANSA) - Turin, February 19 - A suspect in the murder of a special needs teacher told police Friday he and an accomplice "strangled her in the car and threw her away".
Roberto Obert, 54, confessed soon after he was picked up in connection with the murder of Gloria Rosboch, 49, whose remains were found in the woods outside the small town of Rivara in Turin province earlier in the day.
Obert is believed to be a friend of 22-year-old Gabriele Defilippi, an ex-student of Rosboch's who was also arrested Friday in connection with her killing.
The teacher went missing from her home in the town of Castellamonte on January 13. Defilippi is also being investigated for defrauding the victim of 187,000 euros. Rosboch withdrew that sum from the bank over a year ago, and gave the money to Defilippi for investment.
She reported her former student for fraud in September.
