(ANSA) - Bologna, February 9 - A 22-year-old woman died on
Monday evening after being hit by a freight train while crossing
the railway tracks at a station near Bologna, media reported
Tuesday.
The accident occurred at Vado di Monzuno in the Apennine
mountains around 9.30 pm local time.
Early investigations suggest the woman was trying to catch
a train departing for Bologna and did not see the oncoming
freight train.
There were minor disruptions to local rail services as a
result of the incident.
