(ANSA) - Palermo, December 15 - Police on Wednesday carried
out 38 provisional arrest orders for suspected members of the
Palermo mafia clans of Porta-Nuova and Bagheria, for mafia
association, extortion, drug trafficking, illegal arms
possession and bid rigging.
Police detained the wife of a clan boss, who they said
managed the clan's business taking directives from her
incarcerated husband.
