Torching car is preferred mode of intimidation

(ANSA) - Turin, November 24 - At least one Italian local official or civil service worker is threatened or intimidated almost every day, a report showed on Tuesday.
    The most common form of intimidation involved setting fire to a car, according to the report titled Administrators Under Fire.
    The total number of recorded threats against local government staff rose 3% to 361 in 2014, involving 18 regions, 69 provinces and 227 municipalities.
    About three quarters of the threats occurred in the south of the country, 14% in the north and 12% in the central regions.
    Naples was the worst hit province, registering 29 cases. The report, presented in Turin, showed that the three incidents registered in Piedmont in 2014 affected Governor Sergio Chiamparino, a local councillor, and the fire department.
