Merano was 'crossroads for jihadists'

One arrested man encouraged another to conduct suicide attacks

(ANSA) - Rome, November 12 - Abdul Rahman Nauroz, one of the suspects arrested by Carabinieri police on Thursday in an anti-terrorism operation, "was particularly active in recruitment activities" investigations said. They added that his apartment in the northern city of Merano was "a place of secret meetings and a crossroads for aspiring jihadists". They said Nauroz's aims including that of convincing another of the arrested people, "his pupil Hasan Saman Jalal to participate in armed actions of war or terrorism planned as suicide".
