(ANSA) - Livorno, July 30 - Sources said Thursday a fire
overnight destroyed a diesel generator providing electricity for
the island of Capraia in the Tuscan Archipelago, causing a total
blackout that lasted an hour and a half.
Firefighters successfully contained the blaze before it
reached other generators and the power station's fuel stocks.
Firefighters, Carabinieri military police and technicians
from Enel utility are on site to try to work out the cause of
the blaze.
