(ANSA) - Turin, May 25 - A 52-year-old police inspector was
arrested Monday on statutory rape charges for having sex with
the 14-year-old daughter of a woman he met in an online chat
room.
The suspect, who was stationed in Turin, did not deny the
charges and said the sex was consensual.
Carabinieri paramilitary police say he began a relationship
with the teen's mother, then started having sex with the
daughter.
Colleagues reportedly held him in high esteem and knew him
as a mild-mannered, even-tempered person.
He is being held at Verbania prison, sources said.
