Teen who died in hotel plunge 'had low blood alcohol'

Investigators suspect prank gone wrong

(ANSA) - Venice, May 22 - A Padua high school student who fell to his death from a hotel window during a class trip to the Milan Expo world's fair had ingested very little alcohol before the fall, local media reported Friday.
Underpants and shorts were found near the body of Domenico Maurantonio, 19, who plunged from the fifth floor on May 10.
Investigators are beginning to suspect a prank gone wrong, because the teen's blood alcohol level was not high enough to be consistent with passing out and falling out the window.
The student had reportedly not taken any laxatives, contradicting earlier reports about a prank using them.
