(ANSA) - Bologna, May 14 - A dog died of hunger after
watching over her deceased owner for days, Carabinieri military
police said Thursday.
Relatives of the deceased on Wednesday found Penelope, a
10-year-old Miniature Pinscher, in bed with her 82-year-old
owner in the town of Imola, in the Bologna area.
The pensioner died of natural causes, police said.
They went to the apartment after neighbors alerted them
that the old man and his dog hadn't been seen for days.
