(ANSA) - Rome, April 22 - As many as 85 schools for piloting drones have opened over the past year and earned recognition from Italy's ENAC national civil aviation agency, officials said Wednesday.
Hundreds of people, mostly young people, already have attended schools teaching the theory and practice of using unmanned aircraft, they said.
Drones can be used in a range of sectors including television, cinema, agriculture, environmental monitoring and of course security.
"Thousands of jobs will be created by new professions with drones, starting with those who pilot them," said Luciano Castro, president of the Rome Drone Expo&Show.
An aeronautic salon on drones is due to be held at Rome's Urbe airport May 29-31, said Castro.
