Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) Rome, April 17 - Prosecutors asked a court Friday to convict two bosses of the vicious Casalesi clan of the Camorra for alleged defamation and slander of anti-corruption czar Raffaele Cantone and to hand them a six year prison sentence.
The Rome prosecutors asked the sentence be handed down to Casalesi kingpins Antonio Iovine and Francesco Bidognetti as well as their lawyer, Michele Santonastaso, for defaming Cantone and a prosecutor in Reggio Calabria, Federico Cafiero de Raho.
The three all were charged with using "mafia methods".
Cantone worked for many years as a magistrate fighting the Camorra, the Naples version of the Mafia, before he was appointed as a special national crimefighter against corruption.
