Woman dies after gastric bypass surgery

(ANSA) - L'Aquila, March 27 - A 45-year-old woman has died in a hospital intensive care unit following gastric bypass surgery, relatives of the deceased said Friday.
    Lucia Di Giammatteo was operated last week at the Villa Letizia private clinic in the city of L'Aquila. After spending five days in recovery at the clinic, she was moved to a public hospital in the town of Avezzano on Tuesday. "I want to know what really caused my wife's death," her husband, Angelo, told ANSA, adding he plans to file a complaint in court.
