(ANSA) - Rome, January 30 - European consumer confidence in
genetically modified (GM) crops is declining, which supports
Italy's decision to refuse to produce GM food, farmers' group
Coldiretti said Friday.
It cited a report from biotech crop advocate International
Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA)
which showed that the cultivation surface area of GM crops in
Europe declined 3% last year.
