(ANSA) - Catania, January 5 - Carabinieri military police in
the Sicilian town of Acireale have recovered a coffin that was
stolen from the cemetery in October, sources said Monday.
The coffin containing the remains of the sister of a
retired businessman had been absconded with from the family
vault.
The thieves had asked for a 50,000-euro ransom.
The victim refused to pay and contacted police instead, who
found the coffin stashed in the same cemetery it had been stolen
from.
