(ANSA) - Rome, December 22 - Carabinieri police on Monday conducted operations in various parts of Italy to implement 14 arrest warrants for people suspected of belonging to a Neofascist group that was allegedly planning terrorist attacks.
The suspects allegedly belonged on an illegal group that was inspired by the ideals of the disbanded "Ordine Nuovo" (New Order) organisation and was allegedly plotting "violent actions against institutional targets", according to the warrants issued by magistrates in the central city of L'Aquila.

The alleged Neofascists were allegedly planning attacks on magistrates, police and tax-collection agency Equitalia, according to case documents. The group was planning "acts of violence with the sole aim of destabilizing public order and the tranquility of the State," the documents said.

The alleged members of the group arrested on Monday allegedly wanted to create a new political party after carrying out terrorism attacks to destabilise the political system, case documents said.

The group aimed to carry out "widespread intrusion into the posts of power, via regular elections with the presentation of a 'new' party", the documents said.
