(ANSA) - Cagliari, December 22 - A 43-year-old man attacked
his 39-year-old girlfriend with a hammer and then threatened to
throw himself off a roof in a small town near the Sardinian city
of Cagliari, police said Monday.
Carabinieri police talked him down and took him in for
questioning.
The victim, a teacher, is hospitalized in serious condition
in a Cagliari hospital.
The motive for the violent attack is still unknown, police
sources said.
