Rome anti-mafia work leads to arrests in murder

Convicted fraudster killed in July

(ANSA) - Rome, December 18 - Police said Thursday that several new arrests were made in connection with the July murder of convicted fraudster Silvio Fanella, with work led by Rome district anti-mafia directorate.
    Fanella had been sentenced to nine years in jail in a case of fraud and money laundering involving telecommunications companies.
    Police said many of those suspected in involvement in the killing of Fanella had links to far-right organizations.
    Police had earlier detained Egidio Giuliani, allegedly a former member of the right-wing extremist group Armed Revolutionary Nuclei (Nar), and Giuseppe La Rosa, is was also believed to have connections with far-right political groups.
