(ANSA) - Rome, November 26 - The Italian doctor stricken with Ebola while working for an NGO in Sierra Leone was said to be in stable condition Wednesday in a Rome clinic. The man has a fever but "no new symptoms characteristic of the disease, especially no signs of bleeding," the Spallanzani clinic said in a note. The doctor was flown home on Tuesday from Africa and is being treated with an experimental drug which doctors said has been cleared by Italian pharmaceutical agency AIFA. The patient is said to be responding well to the antiviral treatment.
