Kitchen worker wielding knife wounds two in gourmet mecca

(ANSA) - Rome, October 30 - Police arrested a 25-year-old Afghan kitchen worker in a Rome Eataly gourmet food complex Thursday after he allegedly went berserk and stabbed a cook and a security guard.
Terrified customers scattered as the worker grabbed a kinife and stabbed the cook who screamed "help me, he's crazy," climaxing a row in the kitchen and then attacked a security guard who tried to overpower him, witnesses said.
An employee said the drama was hardly surprising given the stressful demands made of workers at Eataly. "We are upset by what happened but it is a consequence of the stressful rhythms and continuous demands made of the workers," the employee told ANSA, speaking on condition of anonymity.
"In my department alone, three people have been fired in the last week," he added.
"I have been working here for a year and I would leave if I could".
