Father and 7-yr-oldson die in Rome car accident

(ANSA) - Rome, October 22 - A seven-year-old boy and his father died Tuesday night after their scooter was hit by an oncoming car in the periphery of Rome. The father and son were returning home after AS Roma's 7-1 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Stadio Olimpico when the oncoming automobile crossed into their lane, Carabinieri paramilitary police said.
    The accident took place at about 23:30.
    The boy, who was a few days shy of his eighth birthday, died on impact. His 38-year-old father, an airline steward, died shortly afterward.
    The 40-year-old driver of the automobile and his two passengers were hospitalized. All three were Romanian.
