(ANSA) - Milan, October 8 - The Principality of Monaco presented plans for its sustainable Expo Milan 2015 pavilion at a press conference in Milan on Wednesday.
Robert Fillon, Monaco's ambassador to Italy and pavilion commissioner general, shared architect Enrico Pollini's project plans which include a 1000-suqare-meter structure made up of shipping containers, cascading plywood roof and above ground garden.
The material used for the pavilion represents the basic themes of Monaco's exhibition which are trade, cooperation, shelter and solidarity.
Construction began at the end of September and will be completed later this year. At the end of the Expo, the pavilion structure will be transported to the West African country Burkina Faso where it will host a nursing school in collaboration with the Red Cross.
