Leonelli wanted to join Israeli army and fight Palestinians

(see related)(ANSA) - Rome, August 27 - An Italian man who beheaded a woman after stabbing her 40 times had attempted to enter Israel, but was turned back at Ben Gurion airport, the Israeli embassy said Wednesday.
    IT consultant Federico Leonelli, who murdered Ukrainian home help Oksana Matsiuk in Rome on Sunday, reportedly wanted to join the Israeli Defence Forces in order to fight Palestinians. Israeli authorities banned him from the country for five years, the embassy said. Leonelli was shot dead by police after he attacked them with the murder weapon, according to police.
