Drug dealer's brother-in-law 'wasn't sick enough to die'

(ANSA) - Naples, August 20 - The family of a Neapolitan man whose body was removed from hospital by relatives and then returned 24 hours later on Thursday filed a wrongful death suit against the Naples hospital where he died.
Gennaro Cotroneo, 50, died on the night of August 18 after being hospitalized for eight days with what doctors said was an inflamed nerve.
Shortly after he died, a group of some 50 relatives and friends barged into the neurology department, overcoming the staff, threatening security guards, and ultimately making off with Cotroneo's body.
They reportedly took it to a park and held a wake, returning it 24 hours later after mediation by police.
An autopsy will be carried out to ascertain cause of death, authorities said. The family is convinced Cotroneo's condition did not warrant his death, court sources said.
The deceased was the brother-in-law of convicted drug dealer Carmine Iaccarino.
