Jail time for 16 defendants could include 15 yrs for leader

(ANSA) - Turin, May 29 - A Turin prosecutor on Thursday petitioned a judge to hand prison sentences adding up to a total of 127 years divided among 16 defendants.
    The defendants are accused of creating a cell of the Romanian mafia in Turin.
    The heaviest sentence was 15 years for Eugen Paun, who is accused of being the group's leader.
    The cell's alleged founder, Viorel Oarza, pleaded guilty to all charges.
    Oarza plea-bargained a two-year sentence, which is to be added to his sentences for prior convictions.
