(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 25 - Consumer and business confidence started rising again in November, ISTAT said Friday.
After hitting a low in May 2013, consumer confidence rose again in November (from 90.1 to 98.1), the stats agency said in its estimates.
Business confidence, which had been falling for four months, also inverted the curve and rose from 104.7 to 106.4.
Business confidence "is driven by expectations on production in manufacturing, orders in market services and expectations on retail sales on retail sales", ISTAT said.
Consumers look positively "to opinions on the economic situation of the country followed by expectations about the household economic situation and opinions on savings (future possibilities) on the upswing". "All component series of the consumer confidence index are in improving". Istat notes.
In particular, the economic climate and future climate show the most pronounced changes (respectively from 77.6 to 95.2 and from 88.8 to 102.8); the personal and current climate increase the least (from 94.3 to 99.0 and from 91.0 to 94.9). With reference to companies, the climate of confidence improves in all sectors (in the manufacturing sector the index rose from 100.7 to 102.5 102.5, in services from 96.0 to 98.8 and in retail trade from 109.0 to 112.2 from 109.0 to 112.2) with the exception of construction where the index decreased from 157.5 to 151.9.
