Industrial turnover up 5.4% to pre-COVID level in 2021-study

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - Italy's industrial turnover rose 5.4% to pre-COVID levels in 2021, a study by the Prometeia think tank and Italy's biggest bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, said Tuesday.
    The 5.4% rise over 2019 was at constant prices, while there was an 11.2% gain with current prices, the study said.
    "Turnover was driven by the inflationary pressure generated by the first commodities rally, especially non-energy ones, which pushed it over the record threshold of 1,000 billion euros," it said in its 101st report and analysis on industrial sectors.
