(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 13 - ISTAT said Monday that the number of people in employment in Italy was up by 505,000 in the third quarter of this year with respect to the same period in 2020.
The national statistics agency said the number of people in work rose by 121,000 in the July-September period with respect to the previous three months, taking the total up to 22.919 million.
It said the employment rate was 58.4% while the unemployment rate was 9.2%.
ISTAT said the number of people employed on temporary contracts rose by 2.3% with respect to the previous quarter, taking the total just above the three-million threshold. (ANSA).
