256,000 more short-term contracts in 3Q

(ANSA) - Rome, December 18 - Short-term job contracts in the third quarter of 2018 continued to increase "for the tenth consecutive trimester", up 256,000 positions year-on-year, according to a joint trimestral note on employment published on Tuesday by the labor ministry, national statistics bureau ISTAT, pensions and social security agency INPS, work-related accidents and illness agency INAIL and employment agency ANPAL.
    According to the statement, short-term contracts increased at a less intense rate while permanent contracts grew by 118,000 positions over the same period.
    Permanent jobs increased by 42,000 positions in the third quarter over the previous trimester while short-term contracts went down by 27,000 jobs compared to the second quarter, the ministry and agencies said.
