Firms' tax payments 'take 6 whole weeks'

(ANSA) - Rome, October 30 - It took "around 238 hours to pay the 14 main taxes" due by firms in Italy in 2017, according to a new report by the Confcooperative association and research institute Censis.
    It said this added up to over six whole weeks of work.
    The report said this compared to the 138 hours needed to meet the nine main tax obligations faced by businesses in France.
    The study said red tape "cost small (Italian) companies around 31 billion euros between 2007 and 2012".
