(ANSA) - Paris, October 23 - A planned alliance between Naval
Group and Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri is going ahead, a
spokesman for the French naval defence group said Tuesday.
The project, Emmanuel Gaudez told ANSA, "has made progress
that has not stopped growing. Today we are able to propose a
solid industrial dossier with our friends Fincantieri."
Naval Group (formerly known as DCNS) is a French industrial
group specialised in naval defence and marine renewable energy.
The group employs next to 13,000 people in 18 countries.
Fincantieri is an Italian shipbuilding company based in
Trieste.
Already the largest shipbuilder in Europe, after the
acquisition of Vard in 2013 and 50% of STX France in 2018,
Fincantieri group doubled in size to become the fourth largest
in the world.
