(ANSA) - Milan, October 10 - Fitch on Wednesday cut Carige's
long-term rating to CCC+ From B- and its viability rating to
CCC+ from B- with negative prospects.
Fitch said "the failure of the bank is a real possibility
since it will be a challenge for the institute to bolster
capital, which could in the end lead to an intervention by the
regulator".
Genoa based Carige has been struggling for some time.
