Brexit and Italy prosperity risks - OECD

Slow growth and high debt threats says Boone

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - Paris, September 20 - Brexit and Italy are among the main risks that might prevent Europe from prospering, OECD chief economist Laurence Boone said at the presentation of the body's Interim Economic Outlook in Paris Thursday.
Asked what were the political risks that might prevent Europe prospering, Boone replied: "The first is Brexit...then there is what is happening in Italy, where growth is weak and debt high.
"They must absolutely continue the reforms launched by the previous government.
And public spending must not be used to artificially boost growth with consumption, but must aim for productive investments".
