(ANSA) - Rome, March 9 - Trade tariffs are "not the way to
follow," Premier Paolo Gentiloni said in a phone conversation
with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker Friday.
Gentiloni also stressed the importance of "continuing the
dialogue with the United States" after the Trump administration
announced import tariffs on steel and aluminium.
"At the next European Council meeting," Gentiloni said, "we
will assess a joint position to be assumed".
