Alitalia lay-offs for 828 'ground staff' (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, May 24 - In the "current phase" an Alitalia lay-off plan would affect 828 ground staff and 190 pilots, while up to 340 flight attendants may be affected, sources said Wednesday. Alitalia on Wednesday started the procedure to access extraordinary cash flow. The former flag carrier is in extraordinary administration under three commissioners after staff rejected a recue plan featuring wage and staffing cuts.
