'Charges recognised as groundless' says ratings agency

(ANSA) - Trani, March 30 - A Trani court on Thursday acquitted Fitch analyst David Michael Willmoth Riley, at the time head of the London office of the Fitch ratings agency, os market manipulation in downgrading Italy's sovereign debt.
    Prosecutors had asked for a prison term of nine months. "The charges have been recognised as groundless," Fitch said in a statement.
