Deflation data 'very bad'

(ANSA) - Rome, January - Retail association Confesercenti said Wednesday data on 0.1% deflation in Italy in 2016 was "very bad" but data on 0.5% inflation in December was "good news".
    "In the last months of last year there was a concrete recovery of inflation which allows us to predict that the recovery in consumer spending may strengthen in 2017," it said.
