Retail sales down 0.1% in August

(ANSA) - Rome, October 26 - Retail sales dropped by 0.1% in value terms in August with respect to July and by 0.2% in volume terms, Istat said on Wednesday. The national statistics agency said the drop was spearheaded by a 0.8% fall in food sales in value terms. It added that retail sales were 0.2% down with respect to August 2015 in value terms and 0.8% lower in volume terms.
