Vivendi CEO confident on Premium accord (2)

Talks ongoing, says Puyfontaine

(ANSA) - Milan, September 30 - The CEO of French media giant Vivendi, Arnaud de Puyfontaine, on Friday said talks are ongoing with Mediaset and he is confident an agreement can be found over a deal to buy the media group's pay-TV unit Premium.
''Perhaps we will find a solution, I am confident'', said the chief executive, after leaving a board meeting in Milan of Telecom Italia, of which he is vice-president.
Vivendi earlier this year agreed to buy the pay-TV business from Mediaset and then backed out, sparking legal action.
Silvio Berlusconi's family holding company Fininvest in August asked for damages of 570 million euros from Vivendi over an alleged failure to respect an April deal to buy Premium. Vivendi said in July that Mediaset's business plan for Premium was ''based on unrealistic assumptions''. The plan said Premium would break even in 2018.
