(ANSA) - Rome, June 30 - Three consortia presented binding
bids for troubled steelmaker ILVA by the Thursday noon deadline,
sources said. There is a third, as-yet-unnamed competitor vying
with the two groups who have already bid: the newco
AcciaiItalia, an Arvedi-CDP-Del Vecchio alliance; and the
ArcelorMittal-Marcegaglia joint venture. Extraordinary
commissioners are managing ILVA as the firm goes through a
massive environmental cleanup and financial turnaround.
