Wages steady from Feb to Mar (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, April 28 - Italy's index for hourly wages was steady between February and March and 0.8% up between March 2015 and March 2016, Istat said Thursday. Private sector wages were 1% up over the year while public sector wages were stuck. There was also a 0.8% yearly rise in the first quarter. Wage rises are usually a sign that the economy is picking up. Italy is slowly emerging from a long recession.
