(ANSA) - Rome, April 28 - Italian start-up companies are
flourishing, Italian chambers of commerce IT operator InfoCamere
said Thursday.
There were a total of 5,439 start-ups in March, up by 296
new companies or 5.8% compared to December 2015. Start-ups make
up 0.35% of Italy's 1.5 million registered companies and have
average share capital of 51,000 euros each.
Infocamere said 72% of start-ups are business service
providers - such as software and consulting companies - 18.8%
operate in the industrial sector and 4.2% are involved in trade.
Women-headed start-ups make up 13.4% of the total and 22.2%
are led by people under 35.
