2015 auto production up by record 42.5%

(ANSA) - Rome, February 10 - Industrial production in the vehicle sector grew by 14.3% in December 2015 contributing to an average growth of 42.5% across last year, said Italian statistics bureau Istat on Wednesday.
    The year's growth rate was the highest registered since Istat began tracking sector growth in 1990.
    Despite the jump, the auto sector's 2015 index, at 121.7, is still lower than its 2007 pre-financial crisis level of 161.1.
