Consumer spending dropped 0.3% in May on April

But Confcommercio also reports 1.2% year-on-year improvement

(ANSA) - Rome, July 6 - Retailers association Confcommercio said Monday that its consumer-spending index (ICC) dropped 0.3% in May compared to April, but added that it was 1.2% higher than in the same month in 2014. The association said that the month-on-month fall was "only a temporary stop in the path of recovery for household spending" and saw a trend for "gradual improvement returning to the levels of early 2013".
